Sass[2] is the kwami of Intuition who is connected to the Snake Miraculous.[3] With his power, Sass' wearer can use the Ouroboros bracelet to transform into a snake-themed superhero.
Sass and his miraculous are currently owned by Gabriel Agreste, who uses it for evil purposes.
Appearance[]
Sass is 10 centimeters (or 4 inches) tall[4] and is light sea green, and has a broad, triangular head, resembling a cobra. His eyes are vivid green with narrow black pupils and light apple green sclerae, his mouth has two pointed fangs, and he has a sea green forked tongue. Additionally, he has a long tail, and from the top of his head and down his back to the tip of his tail, he has a very deep sea green diamond line pattern.
Personality[]
Sass is the defacto leader of the kwamis in the Miracle Box, meaning he is mature, charming, calm, responsible and serious. Because of his status as the leader of the kwamis of the Miracle Box, Sass has the authority to give certain commands to his fellow kwamis when he needs to, like when he told Tikki and Plagg to get Wayzz when they were not managing to contact Nooroo during the latter's cycle. With the eminent danger of a famished Tikki looking for galettes to eat and using her power like she has done in the past, he allowed Wayzz and Barkk to leave and watch over her.
Like Longg, he has a bit of a formal side happily greeting his owners. Due to the unique ability of his powers, Sass has high expectations of those he is partnered with. As Master Fu described his jewel, Sass is also wise in carefully choosing what time he needed to go back too like his holders he was able to resist temption.
And yet, in rare incidents Sass will beg for things he truly desires seen in "Furious Fu", as he did the puppy dog eyes along with his fellow kwamis expressing their desire to see Master Fu. Due to his calm demeanor, he rarely gets scared as seen in "Simpleman" when Manon tries to open Marinette's sewing box.

As Sass' holders remember every revised timeline it's likely he does too meaning Sass has a good memory.
As a Kwami[]
Sass can fly, levitate, and phase through solid objects. He can also carry objects that are larger and/or heavier than himself.
As a kwami, Sass is able to transform the holder of the Snake Miraculous into a snake-themed superhero, with the power to go back in time with Second Chance.
Unlike his holders when they use his power, Sass, when he uses Second Chance, can go back to any previously marked time, no matter how much time has passed. However, doing so causes different moments in time to overlap with each other, causing objects, animals or people from the past to reappear at the present.
It also disrupts objects and devices that use or measure the passage of time in order to function properly.
Relationships[]
Tikki and Plagg[]
Sass treats Tikki and Plagg as equals and considers them of being high virtue, given that he assumed they both got permission from their owners and from the Great Guardian of the Miraculous to participate in the ceremony inside the Miracle Box.
Sass cares about Tikki and Plagg as him was willing to help Marinette rescue them in "Kwamibuster" from the titular villain.
When Tikki's owner becomes the new guardian, he and his fellow kwamis move in with her.
Upon concerning about Tikki going on hunger rampage again "Dearest Family", he advised Wayzz and Barkk to watch over her.
In "Ephemeral", upon seeing Tikki's and Plagg's combined power being used Sass knew that his fellow kwamis were caught by Shadow Moth. From his guardian's Lucky Charm, he got her permission to use his power in doing so their capture was undone.
Adrien Agreste/Cat Noir[]
Sass appears to have a friendly relationship with Adrien, though he has likely left a poor impression on Sass after failing to make good use of Second Chance 25,913 times as Aspik.
In "Miracle Queen", after Sass' Miraculous was taken from a mind controlled Luka, he was fed some cheese by Cat Noir before unifying his power with the Cat Miraculous' to become Snake Noir. It's likely that Sass' impression on Adrien started to change, as the boy was more focused on saving his friends, and that he only used Second Chance twice.
Luka Couffaine[]
Sass appears to get along well with Luka. He likely thinks highly of Luka after comparing him to his recent temporary owner, Adrien, who proved to be a failure with the Snake Miraculous. In "Party Crasher", Luka and Sass continued to work together. In "Miracle Queen", he was likely worried after seeing Luka put on the Miraculous to be used against his friends.
In "Wishmaker", Sass becomes delighted to see Luka again when Ladybug needed his help.
In "Ephemeral", when Shadow Moth is able to get the Ladybug and Cat Miraculouses and is about to grant his wish, Sass explains to Luka the consequences of using the Absolute Power, before Luka telling him to use his power to go back in time and prevent that from happening.
Marinette Dupain-Cheng/Ladybug/Multimouse[]
Even though his Miraculous wasn't activated, Sass helped Marinette as Multimouse enact her plan to rescue Tikki and Plagg by having her ride in his mouth. After Kwamibuster's defeat, he praised Marinette as her plan was a success.
After Miracle Queen, Sass respects Marinette as his new guardian.
In "Dearest Family" aware of what was going on with Tikki, Sass tried to warn her.
In "Ephemeral", upon sensing time anomalies happening everywhere Sass detransformed to explain to Ladybug that he got permission from her Lucky Charm to use his power.
History[]
Before Season 2[]
When the concept of Intuition came into existence, Sass came into existence. Before the Miraculous jewels were created, Sass and the other kwamis traveled all over the universe unable to interact with humans. Then, thousands of years ago, a mage created the Miraculouses. He started off with Ancient Snake Miraculous holder in China. When its Miraculous was not being worn, Sass was dormant in the Snake Miraculous, which was stored inside Wang Fu's Miraculous jewelry box.
Season 2[]
As of Season 2, Sass is dormant in the Snake Miraculous.
In "Sandboy", Sass was celebrating Nooroo's birthday in the Miraculous Box with the others kwamis and was excited when Tikki and Plagg arrived. As the other kwamis marveled at the gift Tikki brought, he expressed his thanks to Tikki's and Plagg's owners for letting them attend. He noticed Tikki trying to say her owner's name but understood what she meant and that they received the guardian's permission and played with the other kwamis. When the time came to find Nooroo, Sass commanded the kwamis into position but they realized they did not have enough kwamis singing to make the connection. He pointed out that they were missing Duusu and seeing this as their only opportunity to find Nooroo, he told Plagg to get Wayzz, who was standing guard in case Fu woke up. Wayzz's presence allowed them to make contact with Nooro, they contacted Hawk Moth instead. Upon hearing his voice, he shuddered at the thought of being his slave and prevented themselves from being discovered when they all cut off the connection. They realized if they contacted Hawk Moth, rather than Nooroo, then someone must have been akumatized, and Tikki and Plagg's wielders were in danger.
Season 3[]
In "Desperada", Sass came out of the Snake Miraculous when it was temporarily given to Adrien by Ladybug. Sass then helped Adrien transform into Aspik, but his power were used in several failed attempts to save Ladybug and defeat Desperada. After numerous failures, Aspik immediately detransformed, with Sass landing in Adrien's hands exhausted, and returned to the Snake Miraculous to Ladybug, who then gave it to Luka instead. After Sass introduced himself and told Luka how to transform, they both transformed into Viperion and used Second Chance to devise a plan and help Ladybug and Cat Noir in defeating Desperada. After that, Sass was dormant in the Snake Miraculous again and returned to Ladybug, then to Master Fu.
In "Kwamibuster", he was activated along with his kwami brothers and sisters to help Multimouse enact her plan of rescuing Tikki and Plagg. During the confrontation, Sass was one of the few kwamis captured but was set free with the help of Multicat. After Kwamibuster's defeat Sass and others cheered for Marinette as their plan was a success and was returned to Miracle Box.
In "Miracle Queen", he was activated by a brainwashed Luka, transforming for him into Viperion and his powers was used against the heroes until Dragon Bug and Cat Noir managed to retrieve his Miraculous. After eating a wedge of cheese to recharge, he fused his powers with Plagg's to transform Cat Noir into Snake Noir. With the power of Second Chance and Cataclysm, they were able to stop Miracle Queen and save their allies. Afterwards, he defused and after Ladybug retrieved the Miracle Box, he returned to his Miraculous.
Season 4[]
In "Truth", Sass was accidentally released from the Miracle Box when Marinette tried to figure it out in his eagerness explored Marinette's room. During a video call on his new guardian's computer, Sass and the others surrounded the screen in amazement. When Marinette leaves for her date with Luka he and his siblings hid with the Miracle Box. After the titular villain's defeat, Sass and the others saw that Marinette was sad about breaking up with Luka to the point of tears, she didn't know exactly how to help but joined with her siblings in giving their new guardian a group hug.
In "Gang of Secrets", Sass was seen talking with the other kwamis until their guardian arrives home. Later, hears Marinette voiced her distress about being condemned to a life of secrets and lies forever because of her alter ego. When they hear someone coming the kwamis hide in the Miracle Box and after the Gang of Secrets had been defeated he and the others look on as Marinette unveils her secret to Alya.
In "Mr. Pigeon 72", Sass was seen talking to Fluff in Marinette's room.
In "Furious Fu", hearing that Master Fu was returning, Sass along with the other kwamis expressed dear desire to see him despite Marinette trying to keep them hidden for their safety and when his new guardian voiced concerns about leaving the Miracle Box unguarded. Sass realized if someone stayed to guard the box, the others could go but when they cheated their way out so all of them going they were stopped by Marinette with no choice they used the "pup dog eyes" on her and Marinette reluctantly agreed. However Sass and his siblings had a hard time keeping quiet while in Marinette's bag but heard that Master Fu is doing well and become a great painter.
But returning home, Sass realized that Su-Han had returned to reclaim the box as he was the previous guardian before Master Fu's incident and with Su-Han's strictness he disappointingly returned to the box. After seeing Ladybug's valiant actions against the titular villain, Su-Han realized that Master Fu's choice wasn't so bad allowing Sass and the others to stay with Marinette.
In "Sole Crusher", Sass came out of the Miracle Box to see that his guardian had been captured by the titular villain. And heard Tikki give Kaalki the confirmation to use her powers to find Cat Noir and tell him about the situation.
In "Queen Banana", Sass was helping as Marinette put the finishing touches on a pair of costumes she was working on for a movie project with her class.
In "Optigami", like the other kwamis, Sass was used to using technology and heard a call from Marinette saying they need Kaalki's help. But upon hearing Kaalki's comment about needing Fluff's help he adds that his siblings animals forms having a common ancestor and yet hearing the call end he and others believed she call again.
In "Sentibubbler", Sass and the others were woken when Marinette was worried about a nightmare she had about Alya betraying her. Like the others, Sass believed that Alya was a good choice but had concerns about Trixx and his mischief but upon hearing Xuppu mention about Trixx causing the myth of Lochness monster, he sees his guardian rush off to check on Alya and Trixx.
In "Wishmaker", when Marinette explained what a career was the other kwamis voiced ideas on what she could do in life until Sass silenced them asking Marinette himself what she wanted to do then saw her leave for the career expo. After Alec was akumatized into the titular villain, Sass was happily reunited with Luka and transformed into Viperion with the power of Second Chance Alec was deakumatized. Then, he returned to his Miraculous and to Ladybug.
In "Simpleman", Sass was worried when Manon was getting close the Miracle Box and felt very dizzy when Manon, Ella and Etta shook the sewing box.
In "Dearest Family", after Tikki ate the pieces of galette, Marinette brought for them, the kwamis quickly realized what she did. Then, Sass warned Marinette of the danger Tikki's hunger for candy can represent, despite the kwami of Creation refusal at that. However, when Marinette doesn't listen to Sass' warning he ordered Wayzz and Barkk to leave the room and watch over Tikki. Shortly after he watched Marinette, realize that his warning was real and transforms to stop Tikki only to be affected by his sibling's hunger, which scared him. Hearing a commotion downstairs, Sass and the others were commanded to hide. After Ladybug saved her family, he and the kwamis see her return with pieces of galette for them. Despite that they were still nervous regarding Tikki, until Marinette ensured them that Tikki will control herself and the kwamis ate the pieces of galette happily.
In "Ephemeral", during the fight against Boniac, Sass and his miraculous were given to Luka and transformed into Viperion. After the battle, Ladybug was forced by Su-Han to discover Cat Noir's identity so Viperion was recruited to help, by having him know Cat Noir's identity and then use Second Chance to make her forget everything. When Ladybug decided to cancel her plan, they detransformed, as time ran out. Later, Sass heard Luka come into Marinette's room, but their introductions were cut short; when his owner received a message from Ladybug allowing Sass use his power to go back to the last marked time.
Soon Sass discovered why as he and everyone noticed the Absolute Power being activated meaning Shadow Moth obtained the Ladybug and Cat Miraculouses and started his wish. He explained to Luka the consequences of it and the latter hurried the former to use his power, which he does. After his power caused time anomalies to appear Viperion detransformed and Sass explained that he saw an image of Ladybug's Lucky Charm telling him to do so. When time was reset, Sass and his Miraculous were returned to Ladybug.

- The snake is the sixth animal of the Chinese zodiac.
- In the terms of episodes production codes (followed roughly in chronological order) Sass is the first known kwami of the Chinese zodiac to be activated and used.
- Sass appears to be the leader of the Kwamis inside the Miracle Box.
- Due to his hood and the black diamond pattern on his back, Sass appears to be based on both cobras and eastern or western diamond-backed rattlesnakes.
- The word "sass" means "impudence, cheek", and is similar to the sound a snake makes.
- According to an official book of ambiguous canon, Sass' concept is Intuition.

- In "Desperada", Sass' miraculous is temporarily entrusted to Adrien Agreste, who uses it to turn into Aspik.[6] Shortly after, Ladybug then gives Sass' Miraculous to Luka Couffaine turning him into Viperion, after Adrien fails to properly use the snake's power.[7]
