Power Players is a CGI animated French series under the ZAG Heroez brand. It is a co-production by ZAG Animation, Method Animation, and Man of Action.[3] It premiered around the world starting in summer of 2019 with its worldwide premiere being in the US on the official Cartoon Network website on August 30, 2019.[4] The show was currently licensed by and premiered on Cartoon Network in the United States.

Synopsis

Brought to life by a hopeful child, this little problem solvers bring all the fun of Mission Impossible as they follow the mission plans of their creator. Main characters

Axel Mulligan/Action Axel

Axel Mulligan[6] (voiced by Kieran Walton) is the one of the main characters of Power Players. He's a 9-year-old human boy with the ability to transform into Action Axel, a living toy-sized action figure by the use of the Power Bandz and he's the new leader of the Power Players team.

Masko

Masko[1] (voiced by Carlos Salazar) is one of the main characters of Power Players. He's a toy luchador, whose arms, legs and head stretch and who wears various masks based on his emotions.

Sarge Charge

Sarge Charge[1] (voiced by Greg Chun) is one of the main characters of Power Players. He's a tough, grizzled war veteran toy and team strategist, who is an expert in toy weapons

Bearbarian

Bearbarian[1] (voiced by Jamieson Price) is one of the main characters of Power Players. He's a powerful, yet, sensitive plush teddy bear, who is not afraid to unleash his toy sledgehammer, nicknamed the “World Breaker,” on his foes.

Galileo

Galileo[1] (voiced by Todd Haberkorn) is one of the main characters of Power Players. He's a flamboyant lizard-like toy from the in-universe Junior Genetic Spy Lizard toyline, but he has never been released in the show’s toy universe.

Bobby Blobby

Bobbie Blobby (voiced by Reba Buhr) is one of the main characters of Power Players. She's a tiny doll-like toy who pilots a purple mech battle suit that fires colored clay.

Slobot

Slobot (voiced by Landon McDonald) is one of the main characters of Power Players. Despite his deliberate slow speed, Slobot serves as the technician and handyman of the Power Players team.

Madcap

Madcap[1] (voiced by Paul Haapaniem) is the main villain of Power Players. He's a villainous toy robot who is constantly coming up with schemes to steal the power from Axel’s glovez to achieve world domination.

Trivia

  • During production, the series was originally going to be called Power Toys.[7]
    • The series was also originally going to be called Super Toys.
  • This is the first ZAG series to air on Cartoon Network.[8]
  • This is the second series in which Zagtoon co-produced with Man of Action after Zak Storm: Super Pirate.
  • According to a Facebook post by Increditainment, Playmate Toys will develop a "multi-segment toy line" that will "capture the action and adventure of the series". The first wave of toys will be released on January 2020.[1]
  • The series was originally going to premiere on 2017 and later 2018.
