It was first announced on Jeremy Zag's Instagram on March 11, 2015.[2]
As of 2022, the film has been shelved from production because ZAG has retooled the Pixie Girl television series into a CGI-animated feature film called Fairy Force.[3]
Even though the Pixie Girl project has been retooled into Fairy Force, it's possible that the live-action adaptation might still happen if the animated feature film becomes a success.
