Synopsis[]

Four heroic kids with the powers of legends in their hands battle history’s greatest myths for the fate of the modern world! In modern day Alexandria, a group of energetic kids are about to discover that the fantasy books they’ve been reading and loving aren’t fantasies at all. Powered by mysterious devices called "occulos", these four heroes in the making are about to take their place alongside the most legendary stories ever told.[4]

Trivia[]

  • The existence of the project was first revealed in a 2013 "Welcome to the World of ZAG" sizzle reel.[5]
    • The sizzle reel revealed test footage for the project, featuring a boy riding a green dragon. It's unknown who portrayed the boy for the reel.
  • According to the official ZAG website in 2014, the project was going to be consisted of thirty-eight half-hour episodes.[4]
    • However, Jeremy Zag later revealed on his Instagram that the series was planned to have one season with twenty-six half-hour episodes.[3]
  • The project shares the same name as a Japanese multimedia fantasy franchise. Unless it's a working title, it's likely Legendz would have been renamed back to Legendary Books to avoid brand confusion.
  • According to an old PDF document that was on the official Method Animation website, the series was planned to have a budget of €10,800,000 ($11,650,500). It was also planned to be released between 2017 and 2019.[6]
  • As revealed on the ZAG website, Legendz was originally planned to be released in 2018. However, it was later pushed back to 2020 before plans were eventually cancelled.
  • Legendz would have been ZAG's very first live-action/CGI-animated hybrid TV series.
  • It was also going to be the third ZAG Heroez project to be a co-production with Man of Action after Zak Storm: Super Pirate and Power Players.
  • Three pieces of concept art were shown in a 2016 promotional video for ZAG Heroez.[7]
    • One of the images that appear in the promotional video was taken from Deisign Studio for Animation Mentor's "The Crew" characters.[8]
  • The creatures that were going to appear in the series were modeled by Stephen Anderson. He's also a character modeler for Denver the Last Dinosaur and SuperStar.[2]
