- Main article: Ladybug & Cat Noir: The Movie Original Soundtrack
The score for the film is composed by Jeremy Zag. Zag also wrote the songs in the film along with Chris Read, Michael Gracey, and Britt Burton.
A remix version of the series theme song can be heard during a montage scene in the film. The theme song was originally composed by Noam Kaniel and written by Alain Garcia.
Two songs can be heard in the film, but are not in the original soundtrack. The first is "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" by Dead or Alive which plays during a scene where Gabriel checks a tailor's shop. The second is "Careless Whisper" by George Michael which plays during a scene when Cat Noir falls in love with Ladybug after trying to defeat the Gargoyle.
Trivia[]
- The film takes place in a separate continuity from the TV series. Here, it serves as an origin story for Ladybug and Cat Noir
- Thomas Astruc, the series creator, as well as all the other writers and directors of the show, weren't involved in the production of the movie.[8] Rather, it is Jeremy Zag's own vision of Miraculous.[9]
- Production for the film lasted from 2019 to 2023.
- In early production, the movie was called Ladybug & Cat Noir Awakening[10][11]
- This is the first feature film to be released by ZAG Animation Studios. It is also the first to be successfully released by ZAG Entertainment since a majority of their previously planned film projects (such as Kobushi, Popples, Power Rangers: Origins, Miraculous Lady Bug, and Mr. Men and Little Miss) were either scrapped or shelved.
- Ladybug & Cat Noir: The Movie is the first movie to be based on ZAG's intellectual property. The aforementioned planned film projects (except for Miraculous Lady Bug) are owned by different companies which led to ZAG having to acquire the licensing rights to produce them.
- In this film, the name of the news channel is ZAG News. This is, of course, a reference to ZAG Entertainment and the in-universe news logo shares the exact same font as the company's logo.
